AND Resort opened a glamping facility “GLAMPOCEAN Luxe Umi-Kumano” (2906, Taiji, Taiji-cho, Higashimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture).
Taiji Town, surrounded by the Sea of Kumano, is known as the town of whales and dolphins. Taking advantage of this, five two-story private villas (each with a capacity of 2-4 persons) have been designed with interiors based on the concept of whales, sunsets, forests, waves, and clouds. 46m2 of guest space is on the second floor, and the first floor is equipped with a BBQ area, shower booth, and toilet facilities.
Guests can use the free seaside Jacuzzi bath and also bathe in the hot spring open-air baths at the adjacent ryokan “Hana Irodori no Yado Hanayu”. Guests can enjoy glamping in harmony with nature while listening to the occasional whale calls.
Dinner is a French BBQ course using local Kumano ingredients. After appetizers such as cheese, fresh vegetables, and bouillabaisse with lobster, guests can enjoy five kinds of meat dishes such as Kumano beef loin and Mikan chicken tandoori chicken. For breakfast, the ryokan’s freshly made omelettes and flavored coffee are served at the Hanayu Restaurant.
Room rates start at 15,400 yen per adult. Reservations can be made through the official website.
