Tanzania is a member of the East African Community (EAC), which aims for regional integration, and serves as a transit point for regional logistics. Specifically, landlocked countries such as Uganda, Burundi, and Rwanda have secured transportation routes to the Indian Ocean via the Central Corridor crossing the country and the Northern Corridor crossing Kenya. Therefore, the government of Uganda has identified improving road transport conditions, including reducing congestion on domestic roads, and thereby reducing travel time and transportation costs, as one of the key issues for the transport and transportation sector.
This cooperation aims to meet the rapidly increasing demand for road transport by widening the roads in Arusha, Arusha and Moshi, Kilimanjaro, and constructing bridges and approach roads in Kikavu, Kilimanjaro, thereby contributing to sustainable and stable economic growth of the country and regional integration of countries in the EAC region. The project will contribute to sustainable and stable economic growth and regional integration of the countries in the EAC region.
