Kyoto Prefecture will resume national travel support on January 10.
The name of the nationwide travel support in Kyoto is “Kyoto Charm Rediscovery Travel Project” and the period is from January 10 to March 30 (including check-out on March 31). The project will subsidize 20% of the Kyoto travel price (up to 5,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation/up to 3,000 yen for other travel products) and provide electronic coupons (2,000 yen on weekdays/1,000 yen on holidays) that can be used to purchase souvenirs and other items. Note that the end date of the program is March 30, not March 31, as is the case in other prefectures.
Eligible applicants are travelers residing in Japan who have received three doses of the novel corona vaccine or can present a negative certificate such as a PCR test.
The website allows users to search for lodging businesses, travel agencies, and coupon agencies participating in the campaign.
