YANMAR TOKYO” opened on January 13, a complex with rice-themed restaurants.

Posted on 2023-01-152023-01-15 by Editor in Chief

On January 13, Yanmar will open the “YANMAR TOKYO” complex in Yaesu, Tokyo, featuring six rice-themed restaurants, etc. The Yanmar Tokyo Building, originally constructed in 1977, was demolished and renovated, expanding to a total floor space of 22,000m2 with three basement levels and 14 floors above ground. The first basement floor, the first floor, and the second floor will be used as commercial areas and event and gallery spaces, and will house specialty stores such as ASTERISCO, an Italian restaurant that combines rice, and SAKEICE Tokyo Shop, a sake ice cream specialty store. To celebrate the opening, a photo spot decorated with real cherry trees will be open for three days from January 13 to 15 under the title of “Hanasaka Hanami Weekend” at a special venue on the 8th floor. The first 100 people to take a photo and post it on social media will receive a free “HANASAKA Sushi Jyu,” a sushi bowl filled with thinly sliced vegetables and mackerel sushi that resemble cherry blossoms. These are limited items that will not be sold to the general public.

Nori bento, sake ice cream, Italian food, and specialties from all over Japan YANMAR TOKYO is located directly adjacent to Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, which just pre-opened in September 2022, in the Yaetica underground shopping mall at Tokyo Station. The logo, which resembles a cherry blossom, the interior design of the commercial area, and the gallery space were produced by creative director Kashiwa Sato. The first store you will see when you step into the building from the basement floor via the connecting passageway from Yaetika is “Nori Ben Yaebachi. The store specializes in takeout nori bento (seaweed bento), which are a combination of specially cultivated Koshihikari rice cooked in a feather oven, green mixed Hatsuhatake grilled nori from Mikawa Bay in Aichi Prefecture, and side dishes incorporating salted malted rice, etc. It offers three carefully selected dishes: Tori-jyu (1,300 yen), Sakae-jyu (1,400 yen), and Yaehachi-jyu (1,500 yen). Facing the outdoor area on the first floor are “KOME-SHIN,” which sells a variety of rice from various regions of Japan in bottles based on the concept of “enjoying rice like wine,” and “SAKEICE Tokyo Shop,” which offers takeout ice cream made with sake. Although non-alcoholic ice cream is also available, most of the ice cream contains alcohol, so those under 20 years of age or those visiting by car should be careful. On the second floor, in a store complex named “YANMAR MARCHÉ TOKYO,” there is “ASTERISCO,” based on the concept of “an Italian restaurant to enjoy with rice,” and “TOCHI-DOCHI,” which sells specialty products from around Japan. ASTERISCO is a restaurant produced by Kundo Koyama, the creator of the TV program “Iron Chef.” The restaurant not only serves rice produced in Tottori Prefecture cooked in a feather oven and dishes using seasonal ingredients, but also offers numerous small dishes “Yamucha style. The restaurant features a luxurious atmosphere in which customers can enjoy a dialogue with the staff and producers about the details of the ingredients (available to the general public from January 16). TOCHI-DOCHI is a store where customers can purchase specialty products from around the country that they can confidently recommend. In February and onward, the focus will shift to other regions.
