The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is currently implementing the “More Tokyo” program to promote tourism in Tokyo. The subsidy is a fixed amount of 5,000 yen per night for overnight trips and 2,500 yen per trip for one-day trips for Tokyo residents traveling within the city until March 31 (including check-out on April 1).
This “More Tokyo” program can be used in conjunction with the “TADAIMA TOKYO Plus” nationwide travel support program, which is also in effect until March 31 (including check-out on April 1). The conditions for the combined offer are that the overnight stay must be at least 9,000 yen on weekdays and 8,000 yen on weekends, and the day trip must be at least 6,500 yen on weekdays and 5,500 yen on weekends.
If you make a reservation directly with a travel agency (travel agency, OTA, hotel or other accommodation facility), the “More Tokyo” program will be applied first, and then a 20% discount rate (up to 5,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation; 3,000 yen for other travel products) will be subsidized by the National Travel Assistance for the subsidized trip price. In addition, local coupons (2,000 yen per night on weekdays/1,000 yen per night on holidays) that can be used to purchase souvenirs, etc. will be given in the form of electronic coupons (region PAY) in principle.
In order to receive the two subsidies, a history of vaccination (3 or more times) or negative proof such as PCR test is required. For details on how to apply, please visit the official Motto Tokyo website.
