ANA and JAL have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the procurement of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) with Raven, a company in which ITOCHU and ITOCHU have invested that aims to produce renewable fuel from municipal waste and other waste materials.
Rayven is an American venture company with technology to produce clean fuels such as hydrogen and SAF from methane gas and organic waste generated from the fermentation of plant-based waste, municipal solid waste, and municipal solid waste. The company aims to start commercial operation of a hydrogen production plant in 2024 and to produce SAF in California by 2025.
ANA and JAL plan to procure SAF from Raven after 2025.
