Hakodate City is running the “Hakodate Wari” campaign, a tourism attraction campaign that offers discounts on lodging at participating facilities in the city, until January 31 (including check-out on February 1).
This campaign is Hakodate City’s own initiative to promote early recovery of tourism demand, which has fallen sharply due to the impact of the new coronavirus. Visitors can make reservations for campaign plans through participating businesses (lodging facilities, travel agencies, OTAs, etc.).
The discount is up to 10,000 yen per person per night for “lodging travel products” priced at 3,000 yen or more, and a fixed 5,000 yen per person per night discount for “package products including transportation” priced at 10,000 yen or more. Both of these discounts are available for up to three consecutive nights.
This campaign can also be used in conjunction with the “HOKKAIDO LOVE! Discount,” a nationwide travel support program currently in effect until March 31 (including check-out on April 1). To use this campaign, a history of vaccination (3 times) and negative proof such as PCR test are required. For details, please check the official “Hakodatewari” website.
