East Japan Railway Company (JR East) announced a partial change in its platform door maintenance plan. This is due to delays in the procurement of materials necessary for the development of platform doors caused by the global shortage of semiconductors.
The construction of Musashimizonokuchi and Noborito Stations on the Nambu Line, which were scheduled to be put into service in FY2022, will be postponed. Instead, Yabe and Furubuchi stations on the Yokohama Line, which can be constructed with the currently available materials, will be constructed ahead of schedule.
