JAL Group has determined its basic flight plan for domestic routes for FY2023.
For routes to/from Haneda, flights will be increased on the Haneda – Naha route and on the Haneda – Ishigaki route during the peak summer season. For routes to/from Itami, flights will be increased on the Itami – Aomori and Fukuoka routes, and on the Itami – Shin-Chitose route during the peak summer season. HAC (Hokkaido Air System) plans to introduce its fourth ATR 42-600 aircraft in October.
JTA (Japan Transocean Airways) will change its Kanku-Miyako route from seasonal to year-round service. RAC (Ryukyu Air Commuter) will increase flights on its Ishigaki – Yonaguni route and on its Naha – Yoron route during the peak summer season.
The extension of operating hours on some flights, an initiative launched in winter 2022 to reduce fuel consumption, will also be continued.
The Boeing 777-200ER, which entered service in August 2002, will be retired during the first half of FY2023. With this, all Boeing 777-200ERs, including the Boeing 777-200ERs operated from April 1996 to March 2021, will be retired after 27 years of service. The company will continue to operate the fuel-efficient and low-noise Airbus A350-900 aircraft to reduce its environmental impact.
