Shizutetsu Taxi, in cooperation with Fuji-san Suruga Bay Ferry, will launch a demonstration experiment on January 28, 2012, of “223 (Fuji-san) Taxi,” a direct cab service between Shizuoka and Izu using the ferry.
The objective is to understand demand and identify issues by proposing new sightseeing routes that are linked with other operators and conducting a demonstration operation.
The demonstration experiment will run from January 28 to February 26. The ferry will operate from a specific area in Shizuoka City to Suruga Bay Ferry, and from there to Kawazu Town, Shimoda City, and a specific area in Minami-Izu Town.
In the case of the carpooling plan, in which passengers who have applied in advance share a car, the fare is 4,500 yen per person one-way. For the charter plan, in which a car is chartered by the same group, 18,000 yen per car (28,000 yen for extra-large car) is charged. For both plans, a separate ferry passenger fare is required for the number of passengers.
