In Moldova, house fires, mainly in the capital and large cities, are caused by accidents involving household appliances and cigarettes, and the scale of fires is larger than in other countries. The country’s geographical location at the foot of mountainous terrain makes it vulnerable to natural disasters such as floods and landslides, and every year the country experiences floods of a scale that cause large numbers of victims and significant economic losses.
In response to such fires and disasters, firefighting vehicles are used not only for firefighting but also for emergency rescue in the event of natural disasters such as floods and traffic accidents. However, the shortage of vehicles deployed by the country’s fire brigades and the aging of existing vehicles are hindering proper firefighting and rescue operations and increasing the scale of damage in the event of a disaster.
This cooperation will improve firefighting and rescue capabilities by upgrading firefighting equipment (vehicles and equipment) in the cities of Chişinău, Baltsi, Kafur, Ungeni, and Orhei, and will contribute to improving public services in Moldova by ensuring the safety of the residents of the target areas.
