Enoshima Electric Railway and Donguri Pit will launch “mini-ichi,” a small town shopping district that connects the community and residents, a demonstration project adopted within the “BAK NEW NORMAL PROJECT 2022 Large Company Presentation Theme Type” by Kanagawa Prefecture and eicon company.
This project is a service in which producers in Shonan Kamakura sell local agricultural, marine, and restaurant products to local residents, thereby creating connections within the community.
IoT refrigerator-type vending machines developed by Donguri Pit will be installed at Enoshima Electric Railway’s Enoshima Station (next to the ticket gate) and Fujisawa Station (in front of the ticket gate) for about six months each. The machines will be open from the first train to the last train of each station, and will sell local vegetables, confections, processed marine products, cheese, side dishes, pickles, and other items.
After registering as a free member through mini-ichi’s dedicated website, customers can purchase local foods by selecting products from tablets installed in the refrigerators at each station.
