Emergency Relief Aid for Forest Fires in the Republic of Chile
In response to a request from the government of the Republic of Chile, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies to the country in response to forest fire damage in Chile as follows

Wildfires have been occurring in the central part of the Republic of Chile since December 2022 and are gradually increasing in scale.
As of February 9 (Source: UNRC)
Number of victims: 5,569 (including 879 evacuated to shelters)
Deaths: 24 (including firefighters killed in the line of duty)
Injuries: 2,196 (total number of people treated)
Houses damaged: 1,180
- details of the provision of supplies
(1) Personal Protective Equipment for Fire Fighting
(2) Firefighting equipment and materials
(3) Materials to support the livelihood of disaster victims, etc.
