Emergency Relief Aid for the Earthquake in the Islamic Republic of Iran
In response to a request from the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for assistance for earthquake damage, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies as follows

On January 28, 2023, an earthquake of M5.9 occurred in Huy, West Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, causing extensive human and property damage.

Injured 1,445 (Khoy 1,426, Chaypareh 10, Salmas 9)
Population affected: 261,387 (77,920 households)
Totally collapsed houses: 1,750 houses, partially collapsed houses: 7,500 houses in more than 72 villages within a radius of 20 km from the epicenter
