JR Tokai will sell a special collaboration talisman with Zojoji Temple (4-7-35 Shiba Koen, Minato-ku, Tokyo) from February 15 to March 31 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Shimbashi to Yokohama railway line.
The design is based on the black color of the “Kurohonzon,” which was the origin of the word “katsuun” (victory), as Tokugawa Ieyasu always carried it with him when he fought in battle, and it is decorated with an image of a steam locomotive from the time when the railroad first opened and the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train currently running in the same section of Japan.
In addition, a set ticket for the “Tokugawa Shoguns’ Family Cemetery” and “Treasures Exhibition Room”, where six shoguns from Hidetada Tokugawa the 2nd to Iemochi Tokugawa the 14th are buried, and a red seal for “Ankokuin-den” will also be awarded. The fee is 1,500 yen for all of the above.
