OTOMO, which offers private tour services throughout Japan, will launch “Kumamon’s Walk/KUMAMON’S PATH,” a local guided tour in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Kumamon no Arukikata” is a private tour service in which registered local tour guides will exclusively guide groups of up to six travelers. The tours will also be available at affiliated travel agencies, lodging facilities, and tourist information centers.
A total of 11 different tour plans, including Kumamon-themed tours, will be offered in Kumamoto City, Hitoyoshi City, and Yatsushiro City. The tours in Kumamoto City will also include stops and departures from Kumamon Square.
Tour guides must be registered and can speak Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, and other languages. No qualifications are required, but they must pass a prescribed screening process, and an information session for those wishing to register will be held in February or March.
