Posted on 2023-02-132023-02-13 by Editor in Chief

JR Kyushu is offering a one-day tour of Aso on the “Kaseumi Yamasemi” limited express train.

The tour will be held on March 5 and 11, with a maximum of 25 participants each day. From Kumamoto Station (Hakata Station is also available as an option), the outbound train will take you to Aso on the limited express train “Kase-mi-masami” to visit the Aso Shrine (3083-1 Miyachi, Ichinomiya-cho, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture), which will be open to the public. Visitors can climb the scaffolding of the unroofed gate to see the tower gate, which is currently undergoing restoration work.

For lunch, a “healthy buffet” thoroughly supervised by a nutritionist will be served at “Aso Farmland” (5579-3, Kawayo, Minamiaso-mura, Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture).

This tour is also eligible for Kumamoto Prefecture’s nationwide travel support program, “Kumamoto Rediscovery Trip (National Version),” and the tour fee is a discounted 6,800 yen for adults (8,500 yen before the subsidy) and 6,000 yen for children (7,500 yen before the subsidy). Applicable conditions and detailed itinerary are listed on the tour flyer and reservation page.
