Inatori Onsen Ryokan Cooperative Association will hold “Susanono-jinja Hina-dan-dori” displaying 118 tiers of dolls from February 18 to March 12 (10:00-15:00, cancelled in case of rain) during the “Hina no Tsurushi Matsuri (Dolls Decoration Festival)” being held until March 31.
Susanoo Shrine (15, Inatori, Higashi Izu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture), which stands on a hill overlooking the Inatori fishing port, has been displaying hina dolls and vines on the steep approach stairs since 2014, and boasts the highest number of outdoor steps in Japan along with Tenjin Shrine in Shimoda City.
During the exhibition period only, red seals will be available at Susanono-jinja Shrine, and crepes and local specialty “festive rice cakes” will be sold at the cafe “CREPE & DRINK TATENOICHI” (1558-1, Inatori, Higashi Izu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture) run by the Inatori Onsen Ryokan Cooperative Association.
In addition, at the “Cultural Park Hina no Yakata” (1729 Inatori, Higashi Izu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture) and other exhibition sites, visitors can view regular hina vine decorations until March 31.
