On February 14, Tokyu Land Corporation and JE East Japan announced a comprehensive business alliance for “environmentally symbiotic, community self-help sustainable community development.
Mr. Fukasawa, President and Representative Director of East Japan Railway Company, said that the main objective of the alliance is community development, which was also the subject of the press conference, and that the two companies aim to grow while solving social issues.
The alliance will utilize the assets, know-how, and human resources of both groups to develop housing, renewable energy, and overseas businesses for a period of 10 years, until February 2033. The first project to be developed is the “Funabashi Ichibaicho Project (tentative name),” which aims to generate revenues of 100 billion yen over a five-year period.
The site is located at 1-6 Ichiba, Funabashi-shi, Chiba, a former company housing site of JR East, and is a 10-minute walk from Funabashi Station. The site area is approximately 45,000m2 and will be used for housing, commercial facilities, renewable energy generation facilities, and a community. At the press conference, the company stated its vision for the future: “We want to create values that people who grew up in this town will want to continue to live in and return to.
Completion is scheduled for 2026 or later.
