On March 1, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government obtained approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for an urban planning project and began work on the Chofu 3, 4, and 17 Komae-Sengawa Line (Nogawa Ohashi North).
The Chofu No. 3, 4, and 17 Komae-Sengawa Line is a 5.1 km long urban planning road that runs from Moto-Izumi 3-chome, Komae City to Midorigaoka 2-chome, Chofu City, with a 695 m section from Nishi Tsutsujigaoka 4-chome to Irumacho 1-chome, Chofu City, to be constructed. The 8-meter wide road will be widened to 16 meters with two lanes. Sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be provided on both sides of the road. In addition, the road will be made pole-free and roadside trees will be planted.
The project will enhance the function of the road as an emergency transportation road and improve disaster preparedness in the area. The project will also improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists by creating a safe and comfortable walking space. The project also aims to create a good urban landscape.
