The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which connects Toyama and Nagano prefectures, will hold the “2023 Tateyama Kurobe Yuki-no-Otani Festival,” an event to enjoy the giant snow wall “Yuki-no-Otani” from April 15, the day the route fully opens.
Snowy Otani is a huge wall of snow created by clearing snow from the area around “Otani,” the highest point of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, where snow blows down at Murodo, 2,450 meters above sea level. The “Snowy Valley Walk,” which will be held for the 30th time this year, allows visitors to enjoy a close-up view of the snow-covered valley, which is as close as 20 meters high.
In addition, web tickets that allow advance reservations for rides will be available for purchase from March 30 for the period from April 15 to June 30.
