The National Federation of Taxi and Hire Taxi Associations has issued “Guidelines for Preventive Measures against Infection with the New Coronavirus in Taxis (Fifth Edition)” in response to the government policy that the wearing of masks from March 13 is at the discretion of individuals.
The previous version (4th edition) required passengers to “understand and cooperate with infection prevention measures, such as wearing appropriate masks and refraining from shouting,” but the new guideline, which will go into effect on March 13, states that “the wearing of masks is left to individual judgment. However, the new guidelines, which will take effect on March 13, state that “the wearing of masks is left to the discretion of the individual.” The guidelines go on to state that “it is permissible for operators to request that passengers or employees, including crew members, wear masks for infection control or business reasons.
The company will continue to ask crew members to practice good cough etiquette, use acrylic panels to prevent droplet infection, and provide ventilation inside the cars so that passengers can use the service with peace of mind.
