We took a look at the commercial area of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, which opened today. In-depth report with many photos!

Posted on 2023-03-18 by Editor in Chief

Tokyo Midtown Yaesu (2-2-1 Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a complex in front of Tokyo Station, will have its grand opening on March 10.

The bus terminal on the second basement floor and the commercial area on the first basement floor were already partially opened in advance in September 2022, but the commercial area and other areas on the first through third floors will finally open on March 10, 2022. This report introduces the contents of the opening to the press. The total number of stores in the commercial area from the first basement to the third floor is 57. This means that a large-scale shopping area directly connected to Tokyo Station has appeared.

In addition to the commercial area, there will be an elementary school and a certified childcare center on the 1st through 4th floors, and an office area on the 7th through 38th floors. In addition, “Bulgari Hotel Tokyo,” the first hotel to open in Japan, is scheduled to open on April 4 on the 40th to 45th floors. The grand opening ceremony has already been published in a separate article.

Tokyo Midtown Yaesu has 45 floors above ground and 4 floors below, and is 240 meters high, with construction scheduled to be completed on August 31, 2022. It is located directly across Sotobori-dori Avenue from the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station. It is directly connected to Yaetica (Yaesu Underground Mall) on the first basement level, making it a very accessible location. It is an easy place to enjoy shopping and dining on the way home from work or in transit on a trip. In particular, the bus terminal on the second basement floor is where long-distance buses arrive and depart, so it is easy to stop by when changing buses.

Art by Japanese creators decorates the exterior perimeter of the building. The entrance gate to the commercial area is also decorated with “Nishijin Refrected,” a color-changing digital artwork created in collaboration with HOSSO, a Nishijin textile company, and Landskip, which adds color to the building.
