Kagawa Prefecture and Pokémon Inc. will open Yadon Park, commonly known as “Yadon Park,” in mid-April, based on the theme of Yadon from Pocket Monsters.
The park is part of a cooperative agreement between the prefecture and the company for regional revitalization that began in December 2018, and the official name of the park is Hidamari Park Ayagawa (253-7 Kayahara, Ayagawa-cho, Ayaka-gun, Kagawa Prefecture).
The company will donate six pieces of playground equipment with Yadong motifs and peripheral equipment, which will be installed by the town of Ayagawa. The illustration depicts Yadong lying on a small conical hill with a slide and other equipment.
Yadon is a pocket monster character appointed to the Udon Prefecture PR team because of its similarity in sound to udon, a specialty of Kagawa Prefecture, and the similarities between sweet sweets such as wasanbon and rare sugar and Yadon’s sweet tail.
The prefecture is also developing a series of other collaborations under the title “Yadon Paradise in Kagawa,” including transportation and lodging locations with Yadon designs.
