Outdoor Park Complex Opens in Fujikawaguchiko Town. Adventure Sports and Camping with No Need to Bring Your Own Equipment

Posted on 2023-04-01 by Editor in Chief

Forest Adventure will open an outdoor park complex at Kawaguchiko on April 22.

In addition to the auto campsite “&GREEN” that opened there in October 2022, “Forest Adventure Fuji” and “Trail Adventure Fuji,” which operated in the nearby village of Narusawa until 2022, will be relocated to the adjacent site to be reborn as a new outdoor park complex.

Forest Adventure Fuji opened in 2006 as Japan’s first outdoor park in harmony with nature, incorporating adventure sports originated in France. Visitors can climb scaffolds set up 2 to 15 meters above the ground in a natural stand of trees, walk through the air to another tree, and then zip-slide down to the ground.

With the relocation, the safety system and contents have been completely renewed. Fees start at 3,000 yen/person for 60 minutes on a time-based system, and since the course can be freely rotated, it can be enjoyed according to the user’s level. In addition, a zipslide-only course is also available for casual fun. The conditions of use are first grade elementary school students and above, 110 cm in height and above, and up to 100 kg in weight. In addition to general use, the facility is also available for charter use by school groups and corporate training programs.

At Trail Adventure Fuji, visitors can experience outdoor sports such as mountain biking on a three-dimensional course of smooth, undulating dirt surfaces in the forest. In addition to the dirt route, a new area, “Balance Garden,” has been added to the newly renovated trail to help visitors improve their riding skills. There are sections that require balancing skills, such as seesaws and single bridges, and visitors can learn skills that can be applied to regular routes. Both the route and field have been expanded, and the difficulty level can now be selected, making it enjoyable for a wide range of riders from beginners to intermediate.

A mountain bike event will also be held on April 23, with booths from manufacturers and stores, test-ride sessions, and a jump session and lecture by pro rider Taro Uragami.

Forest Adventure Fuji and Trail Adventure Fuji will be accompanied by the “&GREEN” camp site, which will be open from fall 2022. Based on the concept of a campground that is comfortable for camping beginners, families, and women, there will be a total of 47 sites, divided into a Komorebi area with many shaded and powered sites, and a Hidamari area where pets can be brought and stargazing is possible. The campground is equipped with clean shower rooms, garbage collection, Wi-Fi for users, and camping equipment for rent, so you can use the campground without any supplies.
