Tobu Zoo will celebrate the 42nd anniversary of its opening on March 28, and for the first time in four years, will hold a charity project, “Admission is only a one-yen donation away.
Regular admission fees are 1,800 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for middle-aged people, 800 yen for children, and 1,100 yen for seniors, but on the day of the opening anniversary, instead of an admission fee, a donation of 1 yen or less will be accepted. Donations will be used for activities aimed at protecting and preserving wildlife through the Wildlife Protection Fund of the Japan Zoo and Aquarium Association.
On the same day, a welcome event will be held for Manpuku-kun, a hippopotamus that came to the park on March 14. The event will start at 1:00 p.m. and last about 15 minutes, during which Manpuku-kun will receive an okara (bean curd) cake specially made by his keepers. In addition, a limited number of 300 original business cards of Manpuku-kun will be distributed to those who gather.
