YE DIGITAL has begun operating “smart bus stops,” which remotely rewrite timetables and distribute operation status, at 14 bus stops on the Tokachi Obihiro Airport Route (Tokachi Bus).
The introduction of this system is expected to make it possible to distribute information on major bus delays and cancellations even on days with heavy snowfall, reduce the burden on bus operators by eliminating the need to replace timetables late at night during extremely cold weather, and attract more visitors to Obihiro City by providing tourist information from the airport line bus stops.
In order to install outdoor equipment using electronic paper, which is vulnerable to cold weather, the company conducted an installation verification for about one month from late December 2022. The company confirmed that the equipment could be operated normally by devising the timing of information updates and screen display methods, and decided to introduce the equipment.
