On April 11, Seibu Railway announced that Toshimaen and Ikebukuro stations, which were undergoing renovation in preparation for the opening of “Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo: The Making of Harry Potter,” would be opened on April 25, and the new station building at Toshimaen would be completed at Ikebukuro.
The new station building at Toshimaen will be red in color, reminiscent of the Hogsmeade station in the film, and the station name sign will feature the new “Studio Tour Tokyo” logo. In addition, a model train, telephone booth, and benches will be remade and displayed as a legacy of the old Toshimaen station.
Ikebukuro station will be remodeled in reference to London’s King’s Cross station, with the walls of platforms 1-2 to be brick and the station signage to be navy in color. Tomony, a convenience store inside the station’s first-floor ticket gates, will also be reborn with an expanded store area and a British-style design on the exterior and interior.
In addition, the “Studio Tour Tokyo Express,” a wrapped train featuring the main cast of the “Harry Potter” movie on its car body, is scheduled to begin operation on May 16.
