DOD, “Sakana Shade 2” for compact picnics that fits in a bag. Families of 4-5 people can relax.

Bee’s has released the “Sakana Shade 2,” a picnic shade that is compact enough to fit in a backpack or tote bag, from the outdoor brand DOD. It is priced at 9,900 yen.

Pop-up tents, which are easy to assemble, are the mainstream for picnic use, but their large storage size makes them difficult to carry around. The Sakana Shade 2 uses the pisces-shaped frame structure used in mountain tents to provide a shaded area for a family of four or five to relax in, while keeping the size down.

The materials also include aluminum poles and other materials to achieve a weight of 1.8 kg. The reverse side of the fabric is coated with a black-colored UV-cut coating to create a dark shade with a shading rate of over 99.9%.

In addition, the pisces-shaped structure with crossed aluminum alloy poles is said not to be easily squashed by the wind.
