Yokosuka City Kurihama Hananokuni is holding the “Poppy and Nemophila Festival” (1 Shinmei-cho, Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture) with free admission until May 28.
Currently, the nemophila in the “Herb Garden: Flower Garden in the Sky,” located at an elevation of approximately 70 meters, are at their best, and from late April, approximately 1 million Charley poppies will be at their best in the “Poppy Garden,” which boasts an area of 1.8 ha, the largest on the Miura Peninsula. Visitors can enjoy the garden paths that lead through the flower fields and photo spots.
In addition, in early May, “Agrostemma” blooms along the path in the poppy garden, and visitors can enjoy a garden full of flowers.
On May 27 and 28, the last two days of the event, visitors will be able to pick flowers in the poppy garden and take them home for free. During Golden Week, the park will also hold events such as a cardboard maze.
