Six different types of guest rooms in a six-car train formation. Normally, express trains are mainly standard versions, with one or two higher-class rooms in addition. However, “Spacia X” has six different types of rooms in a six-car train. The layout of each car is as follows. ↑upTobu Nikko/Kinugawa Onsen direction
Car 1: Cockpit lounge, cafe counter
Car 2: Premium seat
Car 3: Standard seat
Car 4: Standard seat
Car 5: Box seats, standard seats (including wheelchair-accessible seats)
Car 6: Compartment, cockpit suite
↓Asakusa: Cars 2-5 are electric cars equipped with motors for running, or in industry parlance, a “4M2T” six-car train. This means that the “cockpit lounge,” “compartment,” and “cockpit suite” have no motor and can be expected to be somewhat quieter. In addition, both lead cars and Car 2 are equipped with anti-sway devices (so-called active suspension). Toilet and washroom facilities are provided in Car 2 (Tobu Nikko/Kinugawa Onsen direction) and Car 5 (Asakusa direction), the latter of which includes barrier-free access.
