Warner Bros. Studios Japan unveiled the “Great Hall” set of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from “Studio Tour Tokyo Making of Harry Potter” to the press on April 24.

For the unveiling event, fifth- and sixth-grade students from Nerima Ward were invited, as they were 11 years old, the same age at which Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the others entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The children were very excited when they opened the heavy doors and stepped into the Great Hall. They listened to the explanations of the “interactors,” the guides of the Studio Tour Tokyo.

The Great Hall, which was opened to the public for the first time following the 9 and 3/4 Hogwarts Express, is one of the most iconic places in the vast Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Harry and his friends eat, have magical duels, and hold Christmas dance parties. It is also the place where the dormitories were sorted on the first day of school in the first film in the series.

After finishing his tour of the Great Hall set, a boy (11 years old) said, “I was nervous today, but I was surprised to see so many things. I haven’t seen all the movies but I like Professor Snape. My mom loves Harry Potter, so I want to come back with everyone when it opens.

According to Neil Lamont, co-production designer of Studio Tour Tokyo, the floor of the hall is made of durable Yorkstone from West Yorkshire, England, and the same stone has been used since the first production. The furniture is also made of sturdy oak. He said he hopes that many people here will be able to see how much love and care went into the making of this hall set.
