CITIZEN to reissue thermosensor in four “Star Wars Limited Edition” models; pre-orders begin on May 4.

Posted on 2023-05-01 by Editor in Chief

Citizen Watch will release a total of four limited edition Star Wars models (44,000 yen each) based on the popular thermosensor design from the “Citizen Collection” record label on June 15. Pre-orders will begin on May 4 at stores including EC sites.

Introduced in 1982, ThermoSensor was the world’s first analog and digital combination watch with a temperature measurement function. Based on this futuristic reissue design, which was popular among the younger generation at the time, four models were designed: the droid models R2-D2 and C-3PO, the fighter model X-wing Starfighter, and the spaceship Millennium Falcon.

The separate bezel screwed on is three-dimensional and edgy, and the decorative holes in the pressed band give the watch a retro-futuristic look. Each motif is engraved on the back cover.

Each comes with a special Japan-only box expressing the “STAR WARS” worldview and a card printed with each character, and will be sold in limited quantities.
