On April 26, HIS (HIS) renewed its cancellation support for overseas travel in cooperation with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance.
Cancellation Support is a service that compensates for cancellation fees in accordance with insurance premiums in the event of an unavoidable cancellation of an overseas trip. The renewed service is now available as the “Basic Plan” and “Premium Plan,” and is available to customers who have made reservations for overseas travel online and at all HIS outlets.
In addition to the current Cancellation Support coverage, the “Basic Plan” adds “schedule change of school events and entrance examinations,” which was the most common reason for which coverage was not available in the past, as a covered event. The plan also covers the cancellation of travel reservations due to a sudden change in the schedule of a school event. Premiums start at 1,500 yen.
The Premium Plan does not limit the reasons for cancellation, but covers cancellations for “personal reasons unforeseeable at the time of reservation. However, the Premium Plan must be purchased at the same time as the travel reservation. Premiums start at 18,000 yen.
