Tobu Railway adds five new colors to the head mark of “SL Taiki” and “DL Taiki”. Representing the symbol of Nikko City

Tobu Railway will add new colors to the headmark of the “SL Taiki” and “DL Taiki” trains operating on the Kinugawa Line. 5 colors will be available by March 2024, and will be displayed for about a month from the start.

The first one is scheduled to appear on May 1 and will be “Nikkoukisuge Color,” a yellow color that will color the Kirifuri Kogen Plateau. The second headmark will appear on June 1 in the “Shirakaba (white birch)” color. The green headmark will be designed to resemble the image of fresh green leaves. The third headmark will be the color of kingfishers, which live in Nikko, and will appear on July 1.

After an interval, the bright red “momiji color” appeared on September 1, 2024. In March of the following year, 2024, the last additional color, the “hime-masu color,” which is a gradation of retirement, will debut.

After the addition of the above colors, the existing blue head mark will continue to be used in conjunction with the new head mark. The new colors will be added only to the headmarks attached to the locomotives of “SL Taiki” and “DL Taiki,” but not to the passenger cars or the mark of “SL Taiki Futara.
