On April 30, Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, opened a bouldering rink in Shinagawa Central Park (1-27 Nishi-Shinagawa, Tokyo).
The pay area with a 4 x 12 m (height x width) wall has mats on the floor to provide a full-scale competition experience. The fee (2 hours per session) is 200 yen for individuals (100 yen for elementary school students and younger, 4th graders and older) and 2,000 yen for groups (4,000 yen for groups outside the city). Individuals can use the facilities on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and groups on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays, and holidays.
There is also a free area with two low walls (1.5 x 10 m and 1.8 x 3 m), and regular beginner classes are planned.
