The 360-degree panoramic view of the cottage area is breathtaking! It takes 3 to 4 minutes to get to the cottage area from Mori no Eki Hakone Tokunitoge on a mountain road. Directions are shown with pictures on the information map you received, so you will not get lost, but drive carefully as the road becomes narrower and steeper from the halfway point! Incidentally, you can also take a local bus from Atami Station to the Tokoku Pass starting point, which takes about 40 minutes and costs 720 yen one way. If you take the bus, you will have to board the Tokunitoge Panorama Cable Car after check-in. It is amazing that you can get to the glamping site with a spectacular view of the sky only by public transportation.
We also had a look at other cottages. We were specially allowed to see other categories of rooms. First of all, there are two suite villas. This one has the same interior facilities as the Suite Villa with Sauna, except for the “Sauna & Totoi Room” part of the Suite Villa with Sauna where I stayed this time. The blue color of the bed throws and cushions gives it a different atmosphere. Next is the Sky Deck Villa. This is the most reasonably priced of the 11 villas. The capacity is the same as the others, but it is a combination of a double bed and a bunk bed, so it may be good for children. The 33m2 room was long and wide, like a train cabin. When we went up to the Sky Deck, we were surprised to find that the view was even better than we had expected! Without a doubt, this is the highest point on the Tokoku Pass. On a clear night, it would be nice to carry chairs and enjoy stargazing. The cottage area is located at a high altitude, so it gets very cold after the sun goes down. An outer layer of clothing that can be quickly woven over your head is essential during this season. It is also windy throughout the year, so be sure to take all the windbreak measures you can.
Morning! I woke up and breakfast had arrived. Breakfast arrives around 8:00 AM. The menu consists of eggs Benedict, salad, soup, and coffee. So I tried eggs Benedict for the first time while watching how to make it! The hot spring eggs are the key to success.
Since check-out time is 11:00 a.m., I went to ride the Tokunitoge Panorama Cable Car after finishing breakfast. It is a 3-4 minute walk from the cottage area to the Tokunitoge summit station, where there is an observation deck. With the VIP PASS given to guests, the cable car ride is unlimited from check-in to check-out day! And drinks are free at TENGOKU CAFE.
