On May 12, Fujitsu General launched “Conditioning Backpack,” a backpack equipped with a cooler, on Makuake, a support purchase service. Priced at 39,500 yen, the company is offering early bird discounts including 4,500 yen off (35,000 yen) for a limited quantity.
Fujitsu General, a well-known air conditioner manufacturer, and Mizuno, a sporting goods company, teamed up to produce this product, which features a cooling water circulation system with a refrigerant built into the back support to provide quiet temperature control for up to two hours continuously.
In addition, since humans lose the sense of coolness once they become accustomed to a certain temperature, the temperature is lowered dramatically at the beginning of use, and then raised or lowered during the two-hour operation period so that the user can continue to feel the coolness.
Mizuno’s technology, on the other hand, divides the cushioning of each shoulder strap into left and right sections to distribute the load, making it harder to feel the weight of the cooling system as well as the luggage.
