On May 12, Korean Air announced that it has been awarded the highest rating of “5 Star” in the Skytrax Airline Ratings by SKYTRAX, the airline rating company, for 2020.
The evaluations were conducted by mystery shoppers who boarded each airline for approximately two weeks and evaluated each category of service, including airport services such as boarding procedures, lounges, and transfer procedures, in-flight meals, cabin services, and in-flight equipment.
Korean Air’s 5-Star award was the result of its high evaluation in all areas of airline service, including upgrades to in-flight food, wine, and AVOD services, active introduction of next-generation aircraft, and enhanced customer service. These included the development of a new “Korean-style vegan menu” for in-flight meals and the selection of new wines by a world-class sommelier. The Airbus A321neo, introduced this year, is a small aircraft with 180-degree flat seats in the prestige class. In addition to approximately 300 movies, in-flight entertainment is continuously updated with the latest Korean content.
