DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama (1-45 Honmachi, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto) has begun accepting reservations on its official website in advance of its August 8 opening.
The hotel is located within walking distance of the World Heritage Site Kiyomizu Temple, a one-minute walk from the nearest station, Kiyomizu Gojo Station, and a 10-minute drive from Kyoto Station. It is the fifth DoubleTree by Hilton upscale brand in Japan and the first to open in Kyoto.
The seven-story building has a total of 158 guest rooms, all-day dining, a lounge and bar, a large public bath, and a 24-hour fitness center.
The lobby area is decorated with artwork made of natural materials throughout the hotel, including a hammered brass panel resembling the moon and a Genji sliding door painted boldly in sumi ink.
The guest rooms are unified in a modern Japanese style. The guest rooms are decorated in a modern Japanese style, using wood and shoji paper screens to incorporate the best of Japanese architecture, and low beds for the comfort of inbound guests. All rooms are equipped with 50-inch HDTVs and Wi-Fi, and have separate bathrooms, toilets, and sinks.
Six types of rooms are available, including “Japanese Rooms” where you can take off your shoes and “Suite Rooms” with 63m2 of space.
