Oedo Onsen Monogatari Hotels & Resorts will rebrand Oedo Onsen Monogatari Sendai Akiu Onsen Iwanumaya and open it as TAOYA Akiu (107 Yumoto Aza Yakushi, Akiu-cho, Taihaku-ku, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture) on June 12.
TAOYA is a brand of hot spring resort hotels based on the concept of “relaxed and carefree,” introducing an all-inclusive package that includes meals and on-site services in the room rate. Following TAOYA Shima and TAOYA Nikko Kirifuri, this will be the third hotel in Japan.
The entrance, restaurant, and bathhouse have been renovated, utilizing the dignified and spacious atmosphere of Iwanumaya, a long-established hot spring hotel established 400 years ago in Akiu Onsen, which is called the “back seat of Sendai” and has a history of 1,500 years since the opening of the hot spring. A new bar lounge where guests can enjoy beer and wine after taking a bath will also be newly established.
Room rates start at 19,200 yen per night with two meals (per person per room for two adults). Reservations can be made by phone (0570-033268) or through the official website.
