Kakuemura Minami-Izu (889-1 Minato, Minami-Izu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture), a resort hotel located in the southernmost town on the Izu Peninsula, will operate a “Hydrangea Bus” for overnight guests only in conjunction with the Shimoda Hydrangea Festival to be held from June 1 to 30.

Shimoda Hydrangea Festival is the largest hydrangea festival in Japan with 150,000 plants and 3 million flowers in bloom. The hotel will provide transportation for guests to and from Shimoda Park, the venue of the festival.

There will be two tours a day on Mondays and Thursdays during the event period, departing from Kukushi-mura (10:15) and arriving at Shimoda Park (10:35), and departing from Shimoda Park (12:15) and arriving at Kukushi-mura (12:35). You need to make a reservation at the time of check-in.

Rates at the Minami-Izu vacation village start at 16,500 yen per night for two meals (per person in a Japanese-style room for two on weekdays). Guests can enjoy fresh seafood dishes and an open-air hot spring bath, as well as activities such as swimming and playing on the beach at nearby Yurigahama.
