Support for World Heritage registration of “Sado Island Gold Mine”; Dora-wari and unlimited expressway rides available with Sado Kisen accommodation packages.

Posted on 2023-05-292023-05-29 by Editor in Chief

Sado City, Sado Kisen Steamship, and NEXCO East Japan Niigata Branch will jointly launch a campaign on June 1 to support the “Gold Mine on Sado Island (Sado),” which is aiming for World Heritage registration.

During this period, those who apply for the “Sado Island Golden Plan,” which includes a round-trip second-class car ferry ride on Sado Kisen and a choice of accommodation from a total of 28 accommodations on the island, can add the optional “Sado Island Golden Pass,” an ETC-only discount plan that allows discounted expressway travel. The Golden Pass, when attached to the ETC system, allows free entry and exit on the expressways within the Sado Island tour area.

To use this plan, first make a reservation for the “Golden Plan” on the official Sado Kisen website. The application for the Golden Pass is completed by registering the user information, starting date of use, car type, ETC card number, ETC card expiration date, and Golden Plan application number.

The “Golden Plan” includes the basic plan of embarkation and accommodation, with optional extras such as vehicle transportation, rental cars on the island, regular sightseeing buses, and chartered cabs. In addition to the overnight stay with two meals, breakfast and overnight stay with no meals are also available. Departure dates are from June 1 to October 31, and the Bon vacation period from August 10 to August 16 is not available. The plan is also not applicable if the outbound or inbound flight is during the Bon vacation period.
