As a new service of “JRE Hand-Luggage Travel,” JR East will start accepting same-day hotel delivery service of baggage to Tokyo using “Hakobun” train luggage transportation service at Niigata Station from June 1 and at Morioka Station from June 16. The fee is 2,500 yen per piece of baggage (total of 3 dimensions not exceeding 160 cm, weight not exceeding 30 kg).
This service provides Tokyo-bound travelers with baggage checked in at the departure station and delivered to their accommodations in the 23 wards of Tokyo and Urayasu City by around 6:00 p.m. on the same day. The service allows passengers to enjoy a light trip from the departure station.
The reception points are the “Luggage Service Counter” (outside the West Exit ticket gate) at Niigata Station and “Ekitabi Concierge Morioka” at Morioka Station. In addition to expanding the number of departure stations, such as Sendai Station, the service will be gradually expanded to include baggage delivery from Tokyo to hotels in various regions.
