Choice Hotels Japan has acquired the rights to open a branch of the Ascend Hotel Collection, an independent hotel brand, in Japan. Hotel Around Takayama (1-42-7 Hanaoka-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture) in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, will be operated from July 1 as the brand’s first store in Japan.
Ascend Hotel Collection is a brand owned by the American hotel chain Choice Hotels International, which operates more than 330 hotels worldwide. The brand aims to provide guests with local stories and attractions that are unique to the region through the lodging experience, and the hotels incorporate designs that reflect the charm of the region and originality that reflects stories related to the history of the region.
Hotel Around Takayama, selected as the first Ascend Hotel Collection brand in Japan, will open in July 2021. As one of the experiences to provide GOOD LOCAL encounters, 100 cards introducing Hida Takayama are displayed in the hotel. The cards include a history of Hida Takayama and a description of the area. The cards depict the history, people, and food of Hida Takayama, and by collecting them according to the purpose and interest of your trip, you can create your own original travel guidebook.
