Posted on 2023-06-19 by Editor in Chief

Hirakawa Shoji rebranded the former JR Hotel Yakushima, acquired from JR Kyushu, as Hotel Yakushima (136-2 Onoma, Yakushima-cho, Kumage-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture) and will begin operations on June 24.

Located in Tanizakibana at the southern tip of Yakushima, surrounded by majestic mountains such as Mt. Mocchomu and the great ocean. The hotel has a total of 46 guest rooms with great views, including mountain view twin rooms (30m2), ocean view twin rooms (30m2), ocean view premium rooms (60m2), and Japanese-style rooms with a bath with a view (60m2).

On the first floor, there is a large public bath and an open-air bath overlooking the ocean stretching from the East China Sea to the Pacific Ocean, where guests can soak in natural hot spring water of mellow, beauty essence-like quality.

The restaurant offers a Japanese-Western course dinner featuring carefully selected local ingredients and a nutritionally balanced breakfast buffet. The hotel also has a library corner with information on sightseeing in Yakushima and a washing area for hiking shoes.
