Open Design has reopened the restaurant and cafe “L’art de vie” (1769-7 Horie-cho, Matsuyama, Ehime) as a hotel.
The Seto Inland Sea stretches out in front of the hotel, and the hotel will offer a limited number of rooms per day as a lifestyle hotel based on the theme of a boat trip. The guest rooms, designed on the theme of a ship’s cabin or port waiting room, are equipped with original interior decorations made by reusing European antiques and old timbers that are more than 100 years old. The bedrooms have bunk beds, inspired by ship travel.
For meals, guests can enjoy a breakfast of BBQ and sandwiches made with ingredients from Aichi Prefecture. In addition to the self-serve BBQ, the menu structure combines carpaccio of natural sea bream from Ehime, aqua pazza, and Dutch oven dishes cooked by the chef, drawing on his experience in the restaurant.
Draft beer servers, highballs, and soda servers are also available. All meals, drinks, and snacks are included in the price. Ehime liqueurs and local sake are also available.
The terrace is equipped with a Jacuzzi and comfortable sofas.
The maximum number of guests will be 9, and the fee will start at 20,000 yen for 4 people.
