On June 21 (local time), the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released “ESTA Mobile” (Android/iOS), an application for electronic travel authorization system (ESTA) applications from smartphones and tablets.
The new application allows users to apply, check their status, and save their profile using the application, whereas before it was only possible to apply via the CBP website. The application is available in 24 languages, including Japanese, and can be used by travelers from 40 countries who can stay for up to 90 days without a visa for business or tourism purposes.
