JR West, in collaboration with Kobe City, will hold the “Hyogo Destination Campaign” from July 1 to September 30 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Jazz.
Jazz sound sources will be used in some stations in Kobe City to widely promote “Kobe, the city of jazz. At Shin-Kobe Station, the song “Smile,” composed by Charles Chaplin, who has a close relationship with Kobe and is well known to Kobe citizens, will be used as the melody to announce the departure of the Shinkansen trains.
In addition, 10 other songs including “Manteca” and “Take the A Train” will be broadcast at Sumiyoshi, Rokkomichi, Sannomiya, Motomachi, Kobe, and Tarumi stations on the JR Kobe Line, performed by the Kobe Youth Jazz Orchestra and Kobe Koyo Music & Dance College.
