ZIPAIR launches Manila route at the 10,000-yen price range for one-way flights. The earliest flight at Narita has a “ready-to-go” timetable.

The first flight, ZG95 from Narita, was a success, with a total of 277 regular seats filled, and the waiting area in front of the gate was very busy with families. According to the company, about 40% of the passengers on the first flight had Japanese passports, indicating high demand for return travel and VFR (visiting friends and relatives).

ZIPAIR Tokyo launched its Narita – Manila, Philippines route on July 1. The aircraft is a Boeing 787-8 with 18 “ZIP Full-Flat” seats and 272 “Standard” seats, for a total of 290 seats. This brings the company’s total number of routes to eight, including four to North America (including Hawaii) and four to Asia.

ZIPAIR’s Narita – Manila route (July 1 – October 28, 2023)

ZG95: Narita (09:25) to Manila (13:10), daily

ZG96: Manila (14:35) to Narita (20:05), daily

ZG95 departs Narita at 9:25 a.m. and arrives at Manila at 1:10 p.m., making it the earliest flight from Narita to Manila in a day. The return flight departs Manila at 2:35 p.m., which is “just in time if you check out of your hotel late,” and he emphasized that the schedule is easy for passengers to get around.

Fares start at 40,000 yen for “ZIP Full-Flat Value,” a full-flat seat, 11,000 yen for “Standard Value,” a standard seat, and 5,000 yen for “U6 Standard Value,” a flat fare for children 6 years old and under.

The fares, which Mr. Nishida refers to as “business card pricing,” appear to be kept low for the time being to increase competitiveness, and a search of ZIPAIR’s website shows that most one-way tickets are in the 10,000 yen range even during the summer vacation season in July and August.
